The dean role will change just as much as the next person involved. We will deal with items from, "this kid was on a site I did not want them on," to, "My students are using a wiki to discuss a topic. Some are discussing getting into a fight today after school." I would ask what style of classroom management is a teacher comfortable with or using? I believe that our role is to still work with people and develop relationships with students. Regardless of using web 2.0, web 3 million point 0, no laptops, 50,000 laptops, we still deal with issues independently. The medium is now changing from passing notes in class to text messaging, iChat, Facebook, etc. Working with teenagers, we have to set parameters and expecations and adhere to those as consistently as we can. I realize that I am about as perfect as the best computer program working with 12 viruses!","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
