What role does the student play in his/her education?
Education for our students needs to resemble the real world and the pretend world in order to be meaningful and therefore, applicable. That means that student education should ubiquitous. The teacher is only one resource for the students' education, students need to be given all resources possible to be able to take charge of their education.
Student role as:
communicator
collaborator
creator
editor
I am a student who is going to be bad! I am going to go up and edit the first sentence, just to see if I can. (sound like anyone you can envision). I will change it in a couple of days, just want to work on the "pitfalls" of collaboration. (I will underline what I did so you can see it). I wanted to see if it could be seen that I was the "student" who was the modifier.
But you can't tell who did it, right?
mcanlis: Yes I saw mcan did it -- look on the page recent changes -- go to Sunday Jan 17, it shows the page name "student role" edited -- then it shows the words and over to the right it says mcan. I wonder however if this happens by default (showing everyone's post) or if it has a setup when creating the wiki.
Cramer: I didn't set it up. It did it by default. Can it be removed by anyone????
